Credit Repair

Credit repair is a process used by consumers to recover after having spiraled into a negative credit score. First and foremost, credit repair involves the elimination of inaccurate information listed on the consumer's credit report. To accomplish this, the consumer must first obtain a credit report. A credit report is a documented, official, and legal record of all things taking place on a consumer's credit. Next, disputes will be made against the lender or organization if there is information that needs disputing. According to federal law, mistakes or outdated records should be either corrected or removed. Payments that were not actually late, accounts that were solved, and inaccurate numbers on a credit sale may qualify for a dispute, which is considered the official stage of the credit repair process. After this, several other steps can be taken to continue on the path towards "rebuilding" a better credit.
