When wrongful records are placed on a credit report, repair is right that all consumers are entitled to. According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the consumer has the legal right to many things in terms of credit repair. First off, the consumer is entitled to a copy of their credit report from credit reporting companies each 12 months, delivered by each of the credit reporting companies in the United States. In the event that action is taken against the consumer, a credit report can also be obtained for free. Either way, using this credit report, the consumer can take advantage of of another right, their right to dispute wrongful credit records through credit repair. Without the need to pay, consumers can contact the credit report companies and, if necessary, the creditor or organization responsible for the record to resolve inaccurate information. Information that may constitute the need for credit repair includes items older than the expiry time, records for another person, records that never took place, lateness that never took place, or other inaccurate or incorrect information. Beyond correcting records, the only other way to repair credit is to allow rebuilding to occur with time and good credit actions.
