Private Health Care

Private health care in its purest form is health care that is provided by a privately owned hospital and/or paid for by privately obtained insurance. Right now, there is a big debate going on as to whether private health care should be given to those who cannot afford it. Opponents say that there is no significant difference in the care received by a public and privately owned institution. As far as individuals or families purchasing private health care insurance, there is nothing preventing that. Many insurance plans owned by businesses dictate that care must be given by certain doctors or hospitals. There are private health care plans that allow the holder to choose whichever doctor or hospital they prefer. The public health care system such as Medicaid and Medicare are now leaning toward publicly owned hospitals and providers that work for those public hospitals. The problems occurring in both private health care and public is that there is no incentive for the staff that does well and also, health care costs are rising too sharply to provide affordable plans. Health care plans of all kinds are essentially on hold right now while it is determined what the best road is for everyone to have affordable health insurance and medical care.
