Securities Trading

Securities trading is the buying and selling of securities. A security is an investment instrument used by investors in the hope of gaining a profit. Although there are many forms of securities, insurance policies and fixed annuities are not securities. Securities do include stocks, bonds, treasury stocks, notes, certificates of interest or participation and similar types of investment products. In the ideal securities trading, an investor purchases the security at a lower price than what it will sell for at some point in the future. This allows the investor to turn a profit. The security trading occurs in a securities market, such as a stock market. Investor trading, or buying and selling, increase or decreases the value of the security, based on the laws of supply and demand.
