Stock Investments

Stock investments are a type of ownership in a business, organization or government. The group sells a stock, or a piece of ownership, to investors for a specific amount. Those funds are in use to raise working capital in the business or other group. The investor is able to hold onto the stock certificate for a period and may sell it back to the company later for a profit. The investor may also trade the stock investment with other investors on a stock market exchange. The goal of selling or trading stock investments is to purchase them while they are at a lower price and then sell them when they reach a specific price point or more. This leads to profit. The risks of investing have a basis on numerous factors including the business's profit potential and the overall supply in the market.
