Kansas State Treasurer Lynn Jenkins to Tour Middle East
Treasurer Jenkins will meet with officials from Egypt, Jordan and Israel.
(TOPEKA, Kan.) - Kansas State Treasurer Lynn Jenkins, CPA, will leave for an eight-day trip to the Middle East on March 17 as part of her participation with the Aspen Institute/Rodel Fellowship in Public Leadership. Treasurer Jenkins will meet with a number of high-ranking officials including U.S. Ambassadors, U.S. Embassy officials, and the former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"I am honored to have the opportunity to visit the Middle East," Treasurer Jenkins said. "What I learn from their leaders will certainly prove valuable to Kansas citizens."
The Rodel Fellowship program provides an opportunity for the country's young leaders to analyze and discuss historical texts and contemporary commentaries on topics such as democracy and leadership. Political neutrality is essential to the educational mission of the program and there is no identification with any political or party viewpoint and no endorsement of legislation.
All expenses incurred from the trip will be paid for by the Aspen/Rodel program. The Aspen-Rodel Fellowships in Public Leadership are funded solely by the Rodel Foundation. Funding is not accepted from lobbyists, governments, corporations, or special interests.
The Aspen Institute-Rodel Fellowships in Public Leadership is a nongovernmental, nonpartisan educational program for men and women, ideally under age 45, holding elective office at the state, local, or federal level. The Aspen Institute-Rodel Fellowship is comprised of the nation's most outstanding young political leaders who are focused on the ethics and responsibilities of public leadership and the study of democratic values.
